What is this listing for? A complete brand new distributor with 3 pin pre-amp / ignition module and vacuum advance unit , new drive gear, new cap and new rotor arm.

Will it fit your vehicle? Suitable as a direct replacement for all Rover V8 distributors (post 1976 and pre serpentine) that have the integral 3 pin ignition module. If you do not have one of the above style distributors do not fear! If you are using a Lucas'Limb' system 35DM8 (noticeable as it has two wires coming out from the side and an original amplifier mounted under or near to the coil) and you have a post 1976 and pre serpentine engine then you can still use this distributor. Not sure if your engine is Serpentine or not?

The simplest way to describe this is by the type of fan belt your engine has. All pre-serpentine engines had what is called v-belts fitted, they are called v-belts because if you were to cut through the belt (take a sectional view) you get a V. On the later Serpentine engines the belts were wider and flat. This distributor comes complete with the following items.

Drive gear suitable for post 1976 and pre serpentine engines. Distributor Cap and Rotor Arm. 3 Pin amplifier module (we recommend replacing this with our upgraded A&R Amplifier). We also offer this distributor upgrade with A&R amp Magnecor wires Etc. Please Note - This Distributor includes a brand new replacement drive gear attached, however we recommend to always use your original gear drive gear as it will at least be mated with the surface of your original driveshaft.
